MCRW Receives VRFW Award
At the recent convention held by the Virginia Federation of Republican Women (VFRW), MCRW received the Gold Achievement Award.
Congratulations to all the club members who worked so hard to achieve this award.

Volunteer Hours - We all love to get awards!!! But to get them from NFRW and VFRW we must fulfill certain requirements. Many of our club members work long and hard for the GOP. So......don't forget to keep track of your VOLUNTEER HOURS! Keep a calendar on your desk; that makes it do easy to remember to track your hours! MCRW members were fortunate to have the Hon David Ray, Member of Fairfax County Soil and Conservation and Member of State Central Committee (to mention just two of his many political involvements) as their speaker at their January meeting. Mr. Ray gave a very informative speech, highlighting the redistricting process in Virginia.
Wes Kammerer was the speaker at our June MCRW meeting. He is one of the Republican candidates running for sheriff in Fairfax county. His opponent in the primary is.Bill Cooper.
(Update - Cooper won the primary and will be the Republican candidate in November.)

Governor's Volunteerism Awards - If you know an outstanding volunteer in Virginia (individual or an organization), who deserves recognition, please nominate him/her for the Governor's Volunteerism Awards! Nominations are now open until February 6, 2012 at 5 PM. The awards will be presented on April 28 by the Governor's Advisory Board on Volunteerism and National Service. Check out the website for the various volunteer categories. There is a link for the on-line nomination form along with frequently asked questions. Virginia has a wealth of outstanding volunteer organizations and individual volunteers who conribute to the excellent quality of life within our Commonwealth!
